Prof. L. James Lee's Visit from The Ohio State University

Prof. L. James Lee from The Ohio State University invited by Dr. Cailiang Zhang visited State Key Laboratory of Chemical Engineering (Zhejiang University) in August 27. He gave a talk entitled as “Micro/Nanofluidics for Gene Delivery”. The lecture introduced the research progress and challenge in cancer early detection and therapy, and their latest research including liposome nanotechnology applications of technology in the early detection of cancer, nanochannel electroporation technology in the application of the cell therapy.

Prof. L. James Lee is the Helen C. Kurtz Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at The Ohio State University, USA. He received a Ph.D degree in chemical engineering from University of Minnesota in 1979. Before joining The Ohio State University in 1982, he worked as a research scientist at General Tire and Rubber Company for 3 years. His research interest includes BioMEMS/NEMS, polymer and composite processing, and micro-/nanofabrication. He founded the NSF Center for Advanced Polymer and Composite Engineering (CAPCE) at The Ohio State University many years ago and now serves as the Director of NSF Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center for Affordable Nanoengineering of Polymer Biomedical Devices (CANPBD) and Ohio Center for Multifunctional Polymer Nanomaterials and Devices (CMPND) at OSU. He has more than 300 refereed journal publications, 25 patents and invention disclosures.
