Pro. Shentu graduated fromDepartment of Polymer Materials, Sichuan University in 1986, and got Engineering master's degree of Department of Polymer Materials in Sichuan University in 1989. She has been taught at Zhejiang University since August, 1989.
In 2000, Pro. Shentu went to Waseda University with the support of Japanese Ministry of Education fund to study under the tute-
lage of a famous scientist--Pro. Hiroyuki Nishide who is the former president of the Japanese Polymer Society, and got her PhD of
Engineering in March 2003. She has been to Department of Chemical Engineering, States Ohio State University as a visiting scholar.
She was appointed professor at Zhejiang University in 2006, and was approved as a PhD supervisor in 2007.

Pro. Shentu has been engaged in basic and applied research of the polymer materials, such as environmentally friendly polymerization
process and polymer materials, high-performance polymer materials and functional modification of polymer materials and molding pro
cess, the structures and properties of polymers since 1986. She has presided over more than 20 research projects, including a number
of National Natural Science Foundation, the major projects sub-project of the National Natural Science Foundation, Zhejiang Province Science and Technology Agency major projects as well as petrochemical projects. Pro. Shentu has more than 90 research papers pub-
lished in J. Mater Chem., Macromolecules, AIChE J, Ind. Eng. Chem. Res., Chem Lett. Academic journals, including over 60 articles
of SCI, EI, and one Japanese invention patents, ten invention patents in China. She has also been given the Waseda University Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award (Mizuno Award) in 2003. The project of “ Research and development of special flame retardant RoHS compliant electrical and electronic leakage-resistant nylon 66 series engineering plastics” taken charge by Pro. Shentu was prized as the Second Award of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress in 2009. The project directed by her, “Cars with high degree of polymeri-
zation of PVC sealing strip specialty materials " was also given the Third Award of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress.
