Dr. Yong Yang is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at West Virginia University. He is interested in dissecting cell-substrate interactions by engineering highly defined cell culture platform from micro-/nanotechnology and biomaterials approaches and developing stem cell-based systems for regenerative medicine and drug discovery. He obtained his Ph.D. from The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at The Ohio State University (OSU), and did postdoctoral research in The National Science Foundation (NSF) sponsored Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center (NSEC) for Affordable Nanoengineering of Polymer Biomedical Devices (CANPBD) at OSU and then Biomedical Engineering Department at Duke University.
